Just a few hours ago I returned from my family’s cottage up north, and after about two weeks of not being in my own room, it is wonderful. The house is noticeably emptier (we had over twenty people staying here for the wedding), and it will take some time to get used to.
Up there, I was able to recharge somewhat in terms of inspiration. I haven’t really written much in a bit, so having the ability to do that is a relief. I started looking at cities and demographics, and just things we need to expand on. I need to put world-building on the post list… 😉
When I got back, I realized that my main workspace was my bed. Not great for someone who has writing as her full-time summer job. (yeah, I don’t really have anything else to do this summer! Blessed relief!) I do, however, have this nice table in a window nook, and a bookcase. So I’ve started thinking about what to do with that and the large amount of papers I’ve amassed. It’s kinda scary.
- 50-year-old World Book missing three volumes
- Two copies of Webster’s Dictionary
- Anderson’s and Grimm’s Fairytales
- Shakespeare. Must have Shakespeare
- A Wizard of Earthsea, by Ursula K. LeGuin
- Anna Karenina
Yep. I feel organized now. 🙂
Ciao! And find me on Twitter, I’m there now! Have a good night!
