Sooo…. it’s that time of year again.
It’s October, the month for raking leaves,
pumpkin spice chai lattes, and late nights spent wondering what the heck you’re going to write in November and if you’ll actually have the time to make the goal. Also the month for realizing that… uh, this is the second NaNo that we’ve had together.
And if you’re curious as to the state of last year’s novel, I’ve gone through two rounds and a half rounds of edits. Remaining beta readers: I haven’t forgotten about you, I promise! Things have just caught up with me, and you can expect* it to be coming around by the end of the year. 😉
*and by expect, I mean that in December you should probably start yelling at me to finish edits. And, you know, send help so that I don’t drown in final exams.
This year also marks the second year that I’ve helped organize YWP write-ins at the library. We’re currently working on creating a program to run throughout each event to get kids thinking about how to come up with and write a story alongside those of us trying for the 50k this year- just without some of the pressure. If you’re in Central Illinois and have a kid who likes to write, check it out!
I have been planning for November, but with my busy schedule, it hasn’t worked quite how I’d hoped. I do have a general plot and characters, and the Pinterest board is alive and active, but other than that… ha…ha… *sobbing*
I should get on outlining pretty soon. When I have time.
This might not be a year where I win.
So, writer crowd! Are you doing NaNoWriMo this year? Are you planning or pantsing? Do you have WIP Pinterest boards I can follow? Let me know in the comments!
